Students’ Voices on Lecturers’ Written Corrective Feedback (WCF) in Their Writing Tasks

ABSTRACTAlthough studies on Written Corrective Feedback (WCF, hereafter) have been increasingly prevalent in the last few years, inquiries how advisory students perceive lecturers’ feedback their writing tasks likely scarce, especially Indonesian Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) contexts. This study examines students’ perception and evaluation of WCF response to errors inaccuracies academic tasks. Through an online survey questionnaire distributed 46 respondents via email, results show that majority appreciated any forms from lecturers. Their skills four aspects (grammar, vocabulary, organization, mechanics) also improved significantly through enhancement self-directed learning. Following analysis model by one previous studies, showed preferred direct Indirect (58.7 %: 15.2 %), while “Praise” category was given highest rate with average score (4.06). “Criticism”, other hand, lowest only (2.3) evaluation. It is recommended lecturers always avoid unclear, vague, aggressive, thoughtless, inappropriate improve performance. Penelitian ini mengkaji persepsi dan evaluasi merespon kesalahan ketidaktepatan akademik mahasiswa. Melalui kuesioner survei yang dibagikan kepada responden melalui hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas mengapresiasi segala bentuk dari dosen. Keterampilan empat aspek (tata bahasa, kosakata, organisasi, mekanik) juga meningkat secara signifikan peningkatan pembelajaran mandiri mereka. Mengacu salah satu penelitian terdahulu, ditemukan penggunaan Langsung lebih disukai oleh siswa daripada Tidak (58,7%: 15,2%), sedangkan kategori “Pujian” diberikan nilai tertinggi dengan rata-rata (4,06). Sementara, “Kritik” adalah paling rendah skor hanya (2,3) evaluasi.
